A grade one winning miler, PURGE is by Pulpit the leading sire son of A.P. Indy - from the immediate family of grade one sires Valid Wager and Valid Expectations.

PURGE is open to cross with both Mr. Prospector and Northern Dancer sire lines. Pulpit has a grade one winner out of a mare by Unbridled, and graded stakes winner out of a mare by Rubiano (both from the Fappiano branch of the Mr. Prospector sire line), and a stakes winner out of a mare by Forty Niner. Other Mr. Prospector sons who’ve worked with the A.P. Indy line include Seeking the Gold, Machiavellian, Afleet, Silver Ghost and Distinctive Pro, but virtually any Mr. Prospector line should go well here. Alydar, another son of Mr. Prospector’s sire, Raise a Native, should also work well.

Pulpit is making a bright start with mares from the Northern Dancer line. Pulpit has two graded stakes winners out of mares by Danzig, and PURGE is out of a half-sister to the dam of the brilliant filly Jersey Girl, who is by Danzig’s son, Belong to Me. Pulpit also has a grade one winner out of a mare by Storm Cat, and graded stakes winners out of mares by Dehere (by Deputy Minister), Palace Music (by The Minstrel) and Topsider. A.P. Indy line stallions have also done well when crossed with mares descending from Northern Dancer through Nijinsky II, Lyphard, Dixieland Band, Nureyev and El Gran Senor. We can also note that Pulpit has sired a stakes winner out of a mare by Icecapade, a three-quarters relative to Northern Dancer. He can be brought in through his sons, Clever Trick and Wild Again.

Pulpit has a stakes winner by Valid Appeal from the family of PURGE, and since this family has also produced Valid Wager and Valid Expectations by Valid Appeal, mares by that horse should do well. It’s also worth considering Valid Wager and Valid Expectation mares to duplicate this female line.

We can also note Pulpit as sire of a graded stakes winner out of a mare by Summing a son of Verbatim, from the Prince John line; and stakes winners out of mares by Broad Brush and Cozzene (by Caro).
