Overview Pedigree Progeny News Race Record Analysis Gallery

Millionaire LIMEHOUSE , was one of the most precocious juveniles of his crop, and was a major graded stakes winner at two, three and four, every year he raced. From the Gone West branch of the Mr. Prospector line, he is inbred 3 x 3 to Mr. Prospector and 3 x 4 to Northern Dancer, giving him the potential to become a prepotent sire.

There are several outcross strains which have potential to work here. Mr. Prospector and Dixieland Band (the broodmare sire of LIMEHOUSE ) have both combined well with Roberto, and two strains we can particularly note are Kris S . and Lear Fan . Red Ransom mares should also be good, and Grand Slam has a stakes winner out of a mare by Roberto son, Dynaformer . From the same Hail to Reason line as Roberto , Limehouse's sire, Grand Slam, sired Breeders' Cup Sprint victor, Cajun Beat, out of a mare by Cure the Blues (by Stop the Music ).

Another strain with an affinity for Mr. Prospector and Dixieland Band which is an outcross here is that of Seattle Slew . Grand Slam already has two stakes winner out of a mare by Seattle Slew's son, Capote , and another out of a mare by Seattle Sleat . Seattle Slew is a Bold Ruler line stallion, and the cross of Gone West line stallions over Bold Ruler line mares has been a good one in general. Bold Ruler is a son of Nasrullah , and there are other branches of the Nasrullah line which have already worked for Grand Slam. In fact, he's had stakes winners out of mares descending from that line out of mares by Nashwan (by Blushing Groom ), Cozzene (by Caro ); Flying Paster (by Gummo , from the Fleet Nasrullah line); Horatius (a grandson of Never Bend ); Olympio (by Naskra ); Highest Honor (by Kenmare , from the Kalamoun/Zeddaan line).

While still focusing on Grand Slam, and outcrosses to Mr. Prospector and Northern Dancer, we can also note that he has sired stakes winners out of mares by Ogygian (by Damascus) , Silver Buck (by Buckpasser ), Alleged (by Hoist the Flag ) and Pleasant Colony . He also has a stakes winner out of a mare by Wild Again , a horse whose sire, Icecapade , is a three-quarters genetic relative to Northern Dancer .

We should also note that LIMEHOUSE is a half-brother to Blues and Royals, a dominant winner of the Dubai Derby (G2). Blues and Royals is by Honour and Glory , a son of Relaunch , and Gone West and his sons have worked well with the In Reality line through both Relaunch and Valid Appeal .

Initially, we have concentrated on outcrosses, but LIMEHOUSE is not limited to outcross sires. There are now numerous stakes winners with three crosses of Northern Dancer and breeding LIMEHOUSE to mares by grandsons or great-grandsons of Northern Dancer will result in inbreeding no closer than 4 x 5 x 4. Branches of Northern Dancer which have done well with Grand Slam and Gone West include Storm Cat , Deputy Minister , The Minstrel , Sadler's Wells and Danzig .

If more Mr. Prospector is to be introduced we would recommend that it be sourced through Fappiano. There have already been nine stakes winners, four graded, and one grade one, that combine Gone West and Fappiano.
