LIMEHOUSE, a career earner of $1,110,433 who won graded stakes races in each of his three racing seasons, will be honored on March 19 at the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum in Aiken, South Carolina.
Memorabilia from LIMEHOUSE'S racing career will be on display when the chestnut horse is honored as the Aiken trained horse of the year. Prior to moving to trainer Todd Pletcher's barn, LIMEHOUSE was trained in Aiken by Ron Stevens.
LIMEHOUSE earned seven wins, two seconds, and three thirds from 21 starts in a racing career that began in 2003 and concluded with a sixth-place finish in the 2005 Breeders' Cup Mile (G1).
The son of Grand Slam out of the Dixieland Band mare Dixieland Blues won the 2003 Bashford Manor Stakes (G3) and also captured the '04 Tampa Bay Derby (G3) and Hutcheson Stakes (G2).
LIMEHOUSE also won last year's Brooklyn Handicap (G2) at Belmont Park and finished fourth in the '04 Kentucky Derby (G1).
Previously owned by Dogwood Stable, LIMEHOUSE enters stud duty this year after being sold to Vinery LTD in Kentucky, where he stands for $17,500. LIMEHOUSE was bred in Florida by Cheryl Curtin.
