Beginning on February 17th, DerbyDreamer.com (www.derbydreamer.com) will give players who purchase and build a fantasy stable of current North American runners, a chance to win a $10,000 cash prize for earning the highest point total each month. Purchasing a fantasy stable for one year costs only $12 --- giving it an incredibly low entry barrier, given the chance to compete for $120,000 in cash.

“It’s important on two fronts – first is to keep our core customers happy with new ways to win money,” stated Tom Ludt , Presiden of Vinery. “And perhaps more importantly, attract non-racing fantasy sports fans to thoroughbred racing.”

Ludt and Finn Weisse, have worked for several months to develop DerbyDreamer into a playable, but challenging game. “We set out to create some parallels to our sport and others, like Fantasy Football – and at the same time, show unique features of racing too,” said Ludt. “This is about growing our sport – and it’s great that Tom Simon has the passion to invest resources into creating DerbyDreamer.com.”

A fantasy stable owner can choose from over 400 horses listed on the site, including most 2010 Triple Crown nominees and top older horses in training, including Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta. The owner, much like fantasy football, picks a “line-up” of 18 horses, of which 12 are “active” in a given month.
