Three-time graded stakes winner J BE K will stand at Vinery in Summerfield, FL., this year for
$3,000 stands and nurses. The 5-year-old son of Silver Deputy who began his stud career last year at
Gainesway Farm in Lexington, KY. arrived in Florida on Monday morning.
“We’re happy to have J BE K at Vinery,” said Vinery President Tom Ludt. “This horse had a lot of
talent, and he’s from a sire line known for speed. I think he will appeal to Florida breeders.”
Raced by Zayat Stables and trained by Steve Asmussen, J BE K broke his maiden at Saratoga
by 7 1/2 lengths and set the track record for 5 1/2 furlongs going the distance in 1:03.13 in
his career debut. The following year, he won four races including the Woody Stephens S.-G2 by 5 1/2, the Bay
Shore S.-G3 by 5 and Jersey Shore S.-G3 by 4 and placed in the Withers S.-G3.
J BE K is by top sire Silver Deputy, who was pensioned in 2008. A son of Leading Sire Deputy
Minister, Silver Deputy sired more than 80 stakes winners, including Champion Silverbulletday, millionaires
Divine Silver, Atago Taisho, Spring At Last, Biko Minister, Bare Necessities and Badge of Silver, and 2007
Leading Freshman Sire Posse. |
