FRIESAN FIRE WINS LOUISIANA HANDICAP
FRIESAN FIRE took the field wire-to-wire to score an impressive win in the Louisiana Handicap going a mile and one-sixteenth over the fast main track at Fair Grounds.

In possession of plenty of natural speed, FRIESAN FIRE galloped away from the gate and took up the running. He settled into a steady rhythm under a firm hold from jockey Shaun Bridgmohan down the backstretch and around the far turn. Nearing the top of the stretch, some serious challengers emerged from the pack, but he quickly changed their minds.   more....

LIMEHOUSE COLT UPTOWNCHARLYBROWN WINS PASCO STAKES!
UPTOWNCHARLYBROWN, the 3-year-old son of LIMEHOUSE who broke his maiden last out by nine lengths in his racing debut, remaind undefeated and became a stake winner in his second start with a six length victory in the $53,000 Pasco Stakes going seven furlongs over the fast main track at Tampa Bay Downs.

UPTOWNCHARLYBROWN settled into a steady gallop four lengths off the leader down the backstretch and he was ready go when jockey Daniel Centeno asked. The question came around the final turnand he was on even terms at the top of the stretch. He drew  more....

CACTUS RIDGE FILLY CACTUS CADILLAC WINS CINCINNATI TROPHY STAKES!
Sometimes a change of plans turns out for the best, as CACTUS CADILLAC proved Saturday by winning her first stakes, the $50,000 Cincinnati Trophy Stakes at Turfway Park. Apprentice Ben Creed was aboard for the winning ride.

At 6 1/2 furlongs, the Cincinnati Trophy is the first of two local stakes leading to the Grade III Bourbonette Oaks in March. The second prep stakes, the Valdale in February, covers a mile.

"We did not actually intend to run in this race," said winning trainer David Pate. "She wants to go a mile or farther, so we intended to run in  more....

Three-time graded stakes winner J BE K will stand at Vinery in Summerfield, FL., this year for $3,000 stands and nurses. The 5-year-old son of Silver Deputy who began his stud career last year at Gainesway Farm in Lexington, KY. arrived in Florida on Monday morning.

KODIAK KOWBOY WINS G1 CIGAR MILE IN HIS FINAL CAREER START!
KODIAK KOWBOY closed out his career in grand style with a victory in the Grade 1, $300,000 Hill 'n' Dale Cigar Mile at Aqueduct. It was his third Grade 1 win in 2009!

Four Grade 1 winners including KODIAK KOWBOY lined up for the final race at the highest level in New York this season. Ridden with patient perfection by Shaun Bridgmohan, KODIAK KOWBOY took up a position along the rail behind the pacesetting pair of Vineyard Haven and Driven by Success. CACTUS CADILLAC, the 2-year-old CACTUS RIDGE filly, won for the second time in her last three starts with her victory in the 11th race at Turfway Park, a one mile allowance over the Polytrack.

Racing midpack for the first five furlongs, she made her move on the outside around the final turn. She took the lead at the top of the stretch and won with her ears forward and far easier than the official margin of one and one-quarter lengths.

CACTUS CADILLAC races for the partnership of Gary W. Mitchell and Peggy A. Pate and she is trained by David Pate. Produced by the Country Pine mare, Plum Country, she was bred in Kentucky by John and Kim Glenney.
